The program, department, and university offer several different resources to help students finance their graduate education. Read below for information about graduate assistantships, scholarships, and loans.
Graduate Assistantships
CTH Department Assistantships
- Students interested in graduate assistantships in the Department of Counseling, Family Therapy, and Higher Education(home department) should note their online application interest. Assistantship opportunities will be announced in the Spring semester for the following academic year. Students can reach out to Margaret Hardin (hardinmp@appstate.edu) for more information.
Division of Student Development Assistantships
- The Division of Student Development runs its own process for graduate assistantships. In addition to a stipend, students also receive a scholarship that covers in-state tuition. Applications need to be completed in January to be considered for the February interviews. Read more here.
Other Assistantships at App State
- Assistantships are available throughout the university. New positions are posted as they become open.
Scholarships
The Higher Education Program is fortunate to have two endowed scholarship funds to provide our students financial awards. Returning and incoming students are eligible for consideration for these scholarships (which are only awarded in the fall semester). For new incoming students to be considered, they must apply for admission by the Higher Education Program's priority deadline. Application information for current students and eligible program applicants will be sent out in the spring semester.
