College and University Teaching Graduate Certificate

The graduate certificate in College and University Teaching is designed for individuals seeking to advance their teaching careers in postsecondary education. The program consists of four courses that can be completed over two semesters — two in the fall and two in the spring — though flexible pacing options are available in consultation with an advisor. Coursework focuses on foundational and advanced elements of college teaching, including equitable pedagogy, assessment strategies, and digital learning environments.

Required courses include:

  • HE 5201 – College & University Teaching

  • HE 5210 – Teaching for Equity & Inclusion

  • HE 5220 – Exploring Digital Learning Environments in Postsecondary Education

  • HE 5230 – Advanced Seminar in College & University Teaching (prerequisite: HE 5201)
